College Student Development Association

Mission Statement

The College Student Development Association (CSDA) is an organization that is committed to facilitating an atmosphere of camaraderie between emerging professionals at Northeastern University to better prepare them for their futures in higher education. There will be educational and social activities planned throughout the year to help foster professional development. The CSDA is designed to provide its members a chance to socialize, share pertinent information, and integrate the diversity of their experiences. All students enrolled in the College Student Development Program are considered members of CSDA.

CSDA meets every other Monday night at 6pm in Curry Student Center 433. All interested members are invited to join us at our general meetings, which take place every other week. The next general meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2009.

Favorite Quote: “I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.” -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Fun Fact about me: I am a bibliophile, so I love visiting all of the libraries and bookstores in Boston and Cambridge (especially the Coop)!
